Tips to Know About Mistletoe Is Vampire in Plants World

Most of us have heard of the mistletoe plant, and some may have also posed in the garden. But what most of us don’t know is that mistletoe is a plant pest. This means that it will grow like a plant, depending on the nutrition of other plants in your garden. These parasitic plants can also be called vampire plants.

The mistletoe plant consumes part of its nutritional needs by depriving the host plant of nutrients and water. See an example of a European mistletoe. It usually grows around apple trees, hawthorn and poplars, as these are its favorite hosts.

It is also known to grow on many other plants and consume nutrients. Mistletoe will meet its nutrient and water needs through photosynthesis, and secondly, it will produce specialized roots. These sources are called Haustoria and penetrate deep into the vascular tissue of the host tree and drain it.

These types of parasitic plants come in all colors, shapes and sizes. Researchers have found more than 4,000 species of parasitic plants. Mistletoe is a common parasitic plant that is often grown in the garden.

There is a family of plants called Orobanchaceae. It has about 90 different species of plants, all of them belonging to the class of pests, with the exception of three. However, some people use them differently. Excellent garden plants are obtained from these plants if you know how to take care of them, and you also have host plants to grow them.

Like mistletoe, yellow rattles, eyeballs and Indian acorns are called Hemiparasites. But some of these plants attach their roots to the roots of grass rather than to trees. This helps the gardener to create dynamic meadow landscapes.

Such landscapes with wildflowers are very popular among garden design ideas. This is beneficial because these semi-parasitic plants weaken the grasses on which they live. This gives other flowering plants a better chance of reproducing. This complements the garden even more, because in the meadow they usually have brighter flowers.

The climbing plant, another semi-parasitic plant, is also often used. They have more than three hundred varieties. You can choose one of them to create your own landscape. In fact, they are an asset for the garden, although they are a parasitic plant.

But there are also more harmful plants, pests. One group is called Holoparasites. These plants receive all the necessary nutrients only from the host plant and do not produce chlorophyll themselves. These plants live their entire lives depending on the host and sometimes grow inside the host. They will appear outdoors only when the time for flowering has come.

Plants like Orobranchial and Cistanche can be the most harmful vampire plants. They look harmless like orchids and are available in a wide variety of colors. The flowers can be bright yellow or milky white, and more.

These plants lack leaves and attract a lot of attention from the garden due to their showy flowers. So be careful when growing these parasitic plants. Some species can also be a problem for crops and horticulture.

They will not finish the host plant because they depend on it, but they will make it decrease and its flowering and productivity will decrease.
